The most frequent symptom for oral thrush would be some thick white patches on top of swollen red skin in the mouth. It is less itchy than outer skin infections but can bleed if you remove the white part. Because this causes pain during eating and drinking, ensure the child is well hydrated.

You need to remain alert for the causes of yeast infections. While an infection need not be dangerous or fatal it but may result in complications if left unattended. The symptoms which are mentioned above are the most common ones however, should you require further advice speak to your doctor.
